University of Kerala publishes a comprehensive report on the work and progress of activities in the University annually under the head Annual Report for the concerned year. The report begins with the profile of the University which traces its origin from inception and reports its status on teaching, research, extension and other student empowerment activities. The report also presents a fact sheet which provides all details pertaining to the University including budget estimates and major project funding, research, teaching and administrative infrastructure.

The contents are presented in 5 parts:

Section 1 – Gives details of statutory officers and members of the statutory bodies, viz: Syndicate, Senate and Academic Council, besides details of Deans, Chairpersons of Board of studies and Heads of various departments.

Section 2 – Reports the activities of various administrative branches of the University.

Section 3 – Is a detailed reporting on the activities of the 42 teaching and research departments including the School of Distance Education. This section also reports activities of various Centers and other institutions under the University.

Section 4 – Is on affiliated colleges of the University

Section 5 – Gives the list of approved research centers and awardees of Ph.D degrees.
