First of all, let me thank you all for the unstinting support extended to the UGC-MMTTC, University of Kerala since its inception in 1987. With your support and co-operation we have been able to render outstanding service for the last 3 decades.
Higher Education in India is undergoing great transformation. The New Education Policy -2020, envisions quality education as key to India’s overall development and prosperity. Quality education is central to maximizing our country’s rich talents and resources for the good of the individual, the society, the country and the world. As per the NEP vision, education must move towards less content, and more towards learning about how to think critically and solve problems, how to be creative and multidisciplinary, and how to innovate, adapt, and absorb new material in novel and changing fields. Pedagogy must evolve to make education more experiential, holistic, integrated, inquiry-driven, discovery-oriented, leaner-centred, discussion-based, flexible and enjoyable (NEP). The curriculum must be intradisciplinary and holistic to develop all aspects and capabilities of learners; and make education more well-rounded, useful and fulfilling to the learner (NEP). This is possible if only the teachers are fully equipped to take up the challenge of revamping and transforming the educational scenario as envisaged in the NEP. Teachers need to be fully sensitized and oriented towards the process and goals of NEP. The UGC-MMTTC, University of Kerala, being one of the top institutions of its kind in the country, is fully geared up to sensitise and motivate teachers through NEP themes, Induction Programmes, Refresher Courses and various Short-Term Courses. We earnestly seek your whole hearted support to make the programmes of the UGC-MMTTC a grand success.
