Genome sequence of Arogyapacha

Dept. of Computational Biology and Bioinformatics, University of Kerala has generated the genome sequence of Arogyapacha (Trichopus zeylanicus subsp. travancoricus), a popular anti-fatigue medicinal plant, using a combination of Illumina short reads and Pacbio long reads sequencing technologies. An assembly of 713 Mb with an N50 scaffold size of 433 kbp and a total of 34452 high-confidence genes has been generated. The analysis of the genome is described in the paper "High quality draft genome of Arogyapacha (Trichopus zeylanicus), an important medicinal plant endemic to Western Ghats of India" (Biju et al., 2019).This is hoped to be a valuable resource to speed-up the research on Trichopus zeylanicus, particularly its secondary metabolism, genetic breeding and comparative studies. The raw sequence data have been deposited in the Short Read Archive (SRA) under NCBI BioProject ID PRJNA48486. The whole genome assembly has been deposited at DDBJ/ENA/GenBank under the accession RXID00000000. The genome assembly and the annotation datasets are available in links below
